Mid June Fishing Report

June so far.....

Walleye have slowed down a bit...as well as the trout....but the Bass opener was this weekend and provided us with some great action! The bass that Art Olson caught this weekend was able to place 3rd in the local Henderson Harbor derby. Most the bass have been coming on both minnows and drop shot rigs while drift fishing.

The trout and walleyes we have been catching have been coming trolling. Walleyes have been coming off in-line planner boards with deep dive Husky Jerk Stick baits, and the trout have been coming off Calf island in 140 feet of water on both Stinger spoons in the black tuxedo , and cowbells with spin and glows.

May Fishing Report

Fishing in May continues to be great with AWESOME catches of both WALLEYE and Trout. Recently a customer of mine Tom Reed was able to get into the winners circle with a 12lb 8oz WALLEYE during the Henderson Harbor derby!

Also, we teamed up Keith Davis ....some great folks from Tim Meadors Lots-A-Limits lodge to get some great Walleyes, Pike and Trout!!!

Additionally...over the Memorial Day Weekend we had some folks from Clifton Park, NY and they got into some great trout action as well as Walleye!!

END OF JUNE - Fishing is GREAT!!

Fishing has remained good though the week with people catching bass, walleye, and trout. The bass and walleye are being caught together around both Stony and Gall Islands in 10 to 15 feet of water. The trout fishing has been best off the end of Calf Island.

A recent trip yielded a quick limit of trout, then we went bass and walleye fishing.

MID JUNE - Walleye and Bass Fishing VERY STRONG!

CONGRATS TO ART OLSON!
FIRST PLACE in the WALLEYE Division for the Henderson BASS and WALLEYE Derby.
Caught on EXCURSION CHARTERS!

Fishing has remained solid during then first half off June. Again as you can see from the pictures Walleyes are remaining strong…but now the bass fishing is picking up speed! This is what sets Henderson apart from any other port on Lake Ontario…DIVERSITY…we have all the trout and Salmon you can shake a stick at but also some of the best small mouth bass and TROPHY Walleye anywhere.

May - WALLEYE and Trout

We have been on the water continually this past month with all the great fishing and versatility that Henderson Harbor has become so famous for.

Trout

With the longer and colder winter we had the trout fishing has remained good “on top” of the deeper water areas. We have been fishing the top 1- 20 feet of water over 70 – 100 feet (depth) using both planner boards and riggers. We have been getting a mixed bag of both Lakers, browns, and occasional steelhead. Has some great outings with friends from PA and New Hampshire. Thank you to Lots a Limits lodger for the referrals.

Walleye

Have been in both the Chaumont and Black River Bay areas. Stick baits in both areas behind in-line planner boards have been producing the best. We have had some real impressive catches of truly trophy WALLEYE.

We still have dates available in June so please give us a call!

WALLEYE - Week Two!

This last week we have been plying the back bays in search of Walleyes. With all the nice weather…sunny skies…calm water….and temps in the 80’s…it’s made for a tough bite honestly. But we have still been able to get a few nice trophy size Walleyes, plus some nice pike and pickerel. Trout fishing around the High Rocks has been picking up steadily as well too.

Brown Trout and the Walleye OPENER

All efforts this weekend were for the Walleye that makes Henderson the port to fish out of for Trophy Class Walleye….This last weekend I took some great customers out both Saturday and Sunday. We were able to get a few to the boat. Thanks to Joe and his grandson Conner!

Extreme winter has made the water temperatures for this time of the year extremely cold. The brown trout fishing has remained good! Adam shows off a brown going 14 lbs.

And of course do not forget the ladies…..Jolie with a Walleye well over 10 lbs.

Give us a call. With all this cold water I think the shallow water browns and Walleyes could be with us for a few more months!

June 29, 2014 - Multi-Species Day! Trout, Bass and Walleye

First off thanks to JOE!!! GREAT GREAT guy...really enjoyed having him on the boat over this past weekend. A REAL GENTLEMAN. Saturday was a little slow for us, we had only 6 - 7 bites the whole day, and brought in 5 nice trout.

Sunday we made a move to fish more off and around Gallo and immediately got into the fish. We had a boat limit of trout by 9:30 AM. We switched gears and did a little bass fishing that I had been mentioneing to Joe the last couple of days. We all had a great time with the bass catching them on drop shot riggs and Rattle Traps. Even managed a Walleye.

June 14, 2014 - John Miller and Genesee Cream Ale

This last weekend took out long time customer John out fishing along with his Dad and a few new friends. Weather was not what the weather man predicted for the day... Cold overcast and Windy!! We made the choppy ride over to Chaumont in the AM. Caught a bunch of Bass, which we released, then also caught a beautiful Brown Trout while fishing Walleyes. Lost a brute on a worm harness. In the afternoon we switched to another spot over by "Lonely Tree", and caught some beautiful WALLEYE (10 and 11 lbs respectively), and lost another brown which broke off. AGGH!

The secret to these two beautiful Walleye...... and this is the gods honest truth we dosed the plugs with Genesee Cream Ale before putting them out on the planner boards. The fish Walleye we caught came after dosing the bomber liberally with Genesee put the bomber (plug) in the water and after being in the water only 5 minutes before FISH ON!!. Repeat for the second Walleye... same method!

Gives a whole new meaning to the great outdoors in a glass!!....or can in our case. Had a great time... lots of laughs by all! Hopefully see everyone again. THANKS!!

Memorial Day Weekend 2014

We had a great Memorial Day weekend for both fish and for weather.....everyone in the northeast deserved this especially after this last weekend.

Saturday we took out a group from Capt. Tim Meadors "Lots A Limits Lodge" for some fun with the Pike and Pickerel. This was a great family group, and the fishing provided a lot of action for everyone on board. This made for a great rip for kids that just want to have action and catch a lot of fish. The "Good Doctor" even caught a beautiful 15 lb northern.

Sunday I took out a group from Renzi Food Service that had a great day with the walleyes. By the third or fourth fish we were a well oiled machine.

Enjoy the pictures!
